Question not sure if this is the right place??..Was this the STEAM Forum?..STEAM Question

Heya gang,
Firstly, is this the old STEAM Forum?..Coz I've got a STEAM question and can't find the Forum...???

Anyway, if it is the old STEAM Forum, can someone please tell me if I can gift a game on a weekend???..or does it have to be during the week?

It's my son's birthday on a Sunday, and I want to gift him COD BlackOps on the Saturday night so he can play it on his Birthday on Sunday.
Does anyone please know?
Cheers.

*EDIT:- Doh, i just noticed the Prefix thingy...AWESOME!!!!

You can...sometimes steam can be flakey for gifting.
I've gifted my son something and not had it show up for days.

My best suggestion for guaranteed gifting at a specific time is to gift it to his email address not his steam ID (if his email is verified on steam it's instant after clicking the link in the email, if different he'll prompted to create/login to an account)

You can gift a game whenever you like, in my experience it's always been instant though.

As I said...sometimes flaky. 98% of time it's been instant for me but a few times it hasn't shown at all and I'll go into "gift management" and resend to his email. Never, ever had a problem with email gifts, occasionally had issues with in client gifts

Yarr the system is automated. When you make the purchase you just click "buy as gift" or if you already have it, you can manage it under the main window "Games -> manage gifts and guest passes" and away you go.

When gifting now, you also have the option to buy a gift now, for example when it's on sale, but actually send it to someone later ("Store the gift in my inventory to send later").

Perfect for buying and saving for birthday / Christmas etc.

Well I'm running the standard client* and it's showing as an option. I haven't tested it yet, so I guess it's possible that it fails at payment stage, but I'd have thought unlikely.

* yes, for once I haven't updated to run the beta.
