Maybe rename your clientregistry.blob and then open steam up again. You'll have to re-enter your login details I think but that solves a lot of odd Steam problems.

I've done it twice, but havent had to re-enter my login stuff, am i doing something wrong???
*Sigh* , lots of people talk up steam, I'm not a fan at the moment  *EDIT* Just canned AVG and it seems to work now Yay, WOOT  Thanks Reoh
