No mate, Steamwatch is turned off.
I have my DL set to Victoria-Australia.
I have also tried deleting the Client Registry blob, and resetting Steam, but still no joy.

The DL speed is the same for any of my Steam Game updates.

What really bugs me is that I can install games at 800 KB/s, but whenever there is an update, I can't get more than 35 KB/s.....

This update is a whopping 3.66 GB.........

There must be a reasonable explanation somewhere, so I tried to get Steam Support....I answered the random question:- "How many letters are in the word Steam?"...I answered "5"....and got a response that my answer was WRONG!!!...LOL...How on earth can it be the wrong answer?????

I'm really frustrated with this.

Any ideas?

How many are you running concurrently and are you doing anything else like watching video clips etc? Just got the impression you were trying to DL heaps at once. Also does your ISP shape at a certain usage?

Gidday Reoh.
Mate, I am only updating the one game, and no other programs are running.
My ISP usage is also fine atm.

Run TCPView and see which servers you're downloading from (port 27030). I've found if I right click and Close Connection, Steam will try another server. This 'can' get you faster connections.

Hmmm I'm not too sure then mate. Only thing I can think to do now would be power cycle that sucker which you've probably already done. I've had that resolve a slowdown. Is it only from steam, I mean if you watch a youtube clip in 1080p or something is that good for you or choppy. Just wanna rule out its not the server you're connecting to. Might be worth just telling steam to go to another server and then reload steam (don't think it takes effect until you do).

Other than that, try the TOG Laboratory that's where the best tech heads can be found.

The problem is probably just steam and its oceanic content servers. They're rubbish, always have been. Try changing your download location to a US server, I know I've often had better speeds downloading from LA than from servers right here in Vic.

Yep, that was my next option, thanks Chief.

I'll give it a go now.

Btw, I left my rig on all night and the dl speed is now a whopping 19 KB/s...(22% completed....)...
