Default Need a new "pretty" game..

I know i hardly have the best system around, but i have never seen a game slow it down yet.
And on this very site (mostly in the lab) i read about people with already high end computers looking for more power, so this has me thinking.. Maybe i just need some newer games?
So i'm looking for a new game that might give my system a workout, preferably FPS, i quite like puzzle solving elements like hl2 or tombraider.
Not a fan of the cod series.
Newest game i have would be dead island and that didnt seem to stress my machine out at all

BF3 will give your system a real workout.

Battlefield 3. It will really stretch your system. I'd think you'd be able to get ok FPS at the ultra settings, judging by what others have said. Supposed to look pretty too (can't tell on my system as I can only run on low settings).

There are downsides though......when it is running it is a great game but it does have a few bugs in it. Having said that there are heaps of toggers playing and I put up with the occasional crash because it is such fun.

Just saw the Steam prefix. You cant buy BF3 through Steam yet. You have to download Origin (EA's version of Steam) to download the game. It then uses a great web UI for joining servers, co-op, Single player.

If you are wanting a good puzzle you cant go past portal 1 &2.

Yea, Portal 1 and 2 are good puzzle games but won't 'stretch' your PC (just 'open your mind' - think Total Recall )

What about something like The Witcher 1 or 2 or maybe the Assassins Creed series?

Again, I think the only current games that are going to put any sort of pressure on your system is Skyrim and BF3.

metro 2033 will give your machine a good working over on the highest settings, and it is only $10 through steam.

I've just bought Anno 2070. Very pretty for RTS/city building game. Complex resource management and such. Bit expensive at the moment, though I did buy the deluxe edition.

EDIT: Dang, sorry, you're after FPS. My bad...
