Avast AV incorrectly flags steam files as malware
Just a heads up... Apparently avast anti virus was flagging steam files as being malware, and deleting them. So if you go to launch steam and get an error saying "In order to run Steam properly on this version of Windows, the Steam service component must be installed. The service installation process requires administrator privileges." It could be as a result of that. Avast have released a fix now though.
