Some creeper damage in spawn

Hey,

I was hit by a creeper while AFK inside spawn waiting for it to be day. Some minor damage to the wall that I tried to fix but for some reason I can't place any blocks.

One block from the mystcraft portal is also missing and it currently isnt functional.

Like I said I have tried to fix it. I will be more careful with my AFK night spots in future. I really am sorry.

We might have to change the size of the spawn protection, if we want players to be able to repair this.

mostly fixed but hte mystcraft book was destroyed, as such ummm, I dunno how to replace that.

also the reactor is up and runnin, in spawn is a battery room, the wire runs on the far side of the road under the cobble, (starting near admirals) to conserve fuel/help when it runs out I have installed a few ultimate solar panels.

please use community power wisely and don't hog it all

FYI the wire (encased in concrete, all ya need to do is put wire onto the block beside the concrete it will auto connect) is running at 512 eu, so you will need to use 2 transformers (a MV and LV) to hook up a batbox.

Sorry for knocking out the mystcraft portal as well! Don't worry karma got me good. Lost my Quarry shortly after (thankfully not my engines so just the hunt for diamonds left...)

Apologies for sending this in the public forum. This was meant for the admin forum. I must still be recovering from too much Xmas.

Either way, I complement Hoathy for telling us what happened. Some of you might not think of it as much, but little messages like this to explain what has happened in community or other people's areas makes things work a lot smoother for everyone. In this case, it may have made us change one of the settings for the server (if we can). We will consider it.

The creepers in our FTB servers have ninja moves!

I was AFK inside my lit, raised bee hut, getting another xmas beverage and I came back to a massive hole, all bees, bee chest, centrifuge, basically all the good stuff gone

Would've rathered my life and inventory but apparently the MC gods did not favor this.

My block is lit, walled and I have no idea how he got in let alone got aggro from wherever it came from..

I know it's a cardinal sin in MC to AFK too long but I wasn't gone long and honestly thought I'd covered all the bases with mob spawn and aggro..

I've done the same thing in worse places on Frontier and other servers and I'm not ashamed to admit I had a whinge in chat and raged it

This is just a warning to others that may think they're safe, I don't know if it's the difficulty, the mod or just bad luck but be very careful because this isn't an isolated incident.

I have had the same thing happen to me twice in my FTB base. That is why I am glad I have three main chests in separate locations.

This is why I built the bee hut!

My valuables are spread out, it just chose the one spot/chest I've been working on since we started - part of the rage came from me only wanting to be on for 20 mins to check on and rotate my bee stocks..

After epic bee trecks and devoting most of time to bees it was shattering.

Next time I log it will be to make some kind of Israeli West Bank barrier wall

I've noticed creepers have an insane spawning ability, like spawning right on top of you when you're in a 3x3x3 cube that's lit. And of course, there's no time to escape and due to the proximity, even with armor, it's an instant death.

Just a comment on the myst age portal. Just using a bookstand inside spawn with the book on it does nearly the same thing as to portal, and is only 1 block big rather than a big portal.

Sentry Turrets are your friend...well not really but they destroy creepers...just don't step in front of them either.

remember the problem is creepers are now able to "pathfind" meaning unless you have doors, they can visit you, I have watched a creeper spawn near the road and wander towards someone by following a well lit path AND the gap that player left for them to get through.
