My goodness me there are so many threads on FTB I don't know where to start
would there be anyway they could all be popped into one place or is that too hard ?? I realise it'd probably be a nightmare ...........
It's an info overload for me not sure how others are feeling
Daz n Cnafe have been enjoying playing but I would like to learn a little more of what's happening with the TOG server of it while we wait for the upgrade on the normal MC
Anyone got any tips for a first time FTBer??

It is perfectly fine to play FTB without using any of the machines. That's how I play it.

We are still looking at updating Frontier, but we are having difficulties with things like teleportation.

Yup, that's why I haven't even bothered to download the client or go on the server.

I play FTB like normal Minecraft. The server is pretty busy so always players online for a chat.

Find a reliable food source and shelter for the night, as hard mode is very unforgiving.

Like others mentioned I played as normal found and built my building as normal. Then very slowly added just a couple new special blocks here and there.

There is a command inside the game that has been a huge help for me. Pressing U. If you mouse over an item say one of the new Copper blocks and press U i will then bring up many recipes that can be done with that item.

I also have bookmarked: Feed The Beast Wiki Which has a number of videos as well as information on many of the mod items.

After I built my house I dug down as normal found some diamonds and eventually I looked up one of the new basic power generators set it down in my house and placed a couple other new machines right next to it. I didn't use wires for a long time as they will power the blocks right next to it without issue.

Just taking it nice and slow.

My wife is playing has the really tall obsidian tower and absolutely zero machines. shes only been playing with the Twilight and Myst books, but none of the industry stuff.

Same as "U" - "R" when pressed with your heads up display off, will give you a recipie to make said thing upon which you hover when pressing "R"
