Beginner's Guide to the TOG FTB/MindCrack Server

I think I got it worked out, testing on my work computer. I was able to log in.

My computer at work sucks, and I can't stay online for more than a minute, so I will join you all later tonight from home.

I placed a sign on the empty land spot between Nastafar and Misnik, but I crashed out before I could check every corner to make sure the land is not taken by someone else. From the map, I could not see any lights or anything on this land.

Tonight I will check it out, but if anyone could confirm that this spot is indeed available, that would be great.

got a bit of an issue, i had played on the first FTB server before the shift to mindcrack...and all was good. i re downloaded FTB wanting to get back into it with the recent updates and new mods added to the pack, but i can join the server.

i tells me that a:
FML coudl not connect to this server.
The mods and versions listedbelow could not be found.
they are required to play on this server.

and then lists most of the default mods in the pack. but none of the extra mods.

i have done a full re install a few times and forced updates to make sure that it has the lastest versions of the mod packs...but i still can't join

can anyone help?

Did you copy the mods specified in the start of this thread into your mindcrack instmod folder?

Make sure you are trying to launch Mindcrack v7. The server has not been updated yet to v8.

well there is my issue, i got V8, is there a way to roll back to V7?

Yes, in the launcher pull down the "recommended" menu and chose version 7 for Mindcrack. We will make this clearer in the OP.

Not always necesary though - i tried the v7 thing, but turned out it worked only when i was on 'recommended'.. ..again with the being fussy thing.

I think it needs to say if it doesnt work then change it...

I can't see how it could possibly work on anything other than version 7, other than due to a bug in the launcher keeping it at 7 but showing something else (which of course is possible).

The very first time you install it you need to load the recommended version and then change it to 7. If you don't it pulls the wrong version of Minecraft in.
