Same! Didnt realise you were in to a bit of the craft too!

With the MoCreatures mod - i have unzipped the mod, run the installer and saved the contents in my mindcrack mods folder, but i get this error when FTB tries to load up which crashes it (i cant remember off the top of my head but its a file that starts off NEI_P...)

Dont suppose anyone feels like putting up a screenie of what their instmod folder looks like??

You don't unzip anything - just save the files into the "instMod" folder.

With pretty much all mods you might want to add to Minecraft, they are left zipped now. It used to be that you'd have to unzip them and put them in your minecraft.jar file - nowadays, with Forge it's much easier as it reads the files zipped.

Well, i did that initially, but it says i need the Mod in the minecraft window.. ..i probably have forgotten to download something?? Will have to have a play around tonight, i doubt i can give much useful info while im at work.. ..could always check with the guys on chat!

On another note, when i do finally get it working are constructions in the spawn city limited to within the current grid? I have noticed an elevated rocky outcrop to east of the city which looks cool.. ..it has a road running next to it and an NPC village by the looks of it on the other side..

The original placement of the spawn city was determined so it fit nicely within the space covered by a datafile. This meant when the world was regenerated, we could easily copy the file into the world and we got the city, regardless of how the rest of the world was generated. There was a bit of miscalculation as to the size and placement of inner city plots so they are different sizes, but like always - first in, best served.

At that stage, we were thinking of regenerating the world regularly, so we encouraged people setting up base in the city. It also helped encourage community play. However, things have changed now that this is an official TOG server.

Now, we are not planning to regenerate the world for quite some time (hopefully). Likewise, the lag caused by so many machines etc in the city has not been helpful, so while we encourage people to have a plot they call their own, we ask that they don't overload it with complex machines or entities.

So the answer is, yes you are welcome to build anywhere outside the city, as long as you don't get in the road of other players. However, if we ever need to (unfortunately) regenerate the world, we will probably only save the city.

Ok, so basically anything built outside the existing road grid potentially could get wiped? I will have to pick a plot within the grid then and work on the other zone as a side project. I was thinking of a cave complex (Probably something to do with the fact i was meant to go to the Jenolan Caves last weekend..), its such a perfect spot!

p.s. If you guys had a minecraft noob of the month award...

As a last resort. We are not planning to wipe the world again. Generally each of our worlds have lasted 1 or 1.5 years. They then get regenerated/replaced because of updates/congestion/wanting something new.

As for caves... just you wait

Im intruiged!! I started building some caves and tunnels in my first world - if i mine a large area im probably keen to fill it up with stairs and walkways and all sorts of passages and stuff

I read in another post you can use water to fill mines or something along that line, but is it ok if your using the water as an aesthetic feature e.g. a couple of waterfalls?!?!
