Went to deposit my 4 iridium yesterday only to find out it was already built

I put in around 6 stacks of scrap boxes though, so that should have kept it running for a while.

It might get power for itself. However, due to its lengthy process and its contribution to lag, we might have to move it elsewhere (e.g. to a Myst world or outside the city (with a link portal to it). We haven't really discussed it at this stage.

How about setting it up in the nether and let it be powered by a number of lava generators?

Although, just because it's so slow I would recommend having it somewhere in the city. If you have to babysit it the entire time it's more or less useless. Besides I have a hard time imagining it being more lag inducing than for example a macerator? And we have tons of those already, so adding another one wouldn't make much difference. Well, I don't know, I'm sure you'll make a good decision.
