inventory tweaks. We've had this argument before during the vanilla days and ironically, I now see Obsi in favor of it (for the same reasons of being against it originally... lol? )
Because before we were discussing allowing people to download it and use it on our Sanctuary/Frontier servers, where it would be only those people who specifically downloaded it who had access to it. So some people would have it and some people would not. So not everyone has the same advantages of having it. We felt it was wrong to require some people to install mods to have the same benefits as another player on the server. Which is why we don't allow most mods to be used.

Now it is part of a pack that everyone who uses the server *HAS* to download - so everyone using the server has it and it is thus equal and fair for all. So it's a completely different situation to before. I would still not be in favour of having it on Sanctuary/Frontier.

I will also point out that I was not the only member of the modmin team to vote against it being allowed on our servers.

I'm curious, though. More than one person has made reference to it showing up 'while the world is loading'. What do you mean? I haven't seen anything like this, I don't think.

Those black blocks you see, are those new shiny ores.

Not very good examples, but 2 screenshots I happened to have

I'm pretty indifferent about most the mods. Only one I really want to keep is the awesome Twilight forest. I also like the redwoods and the myst books were fun but dunno where they fall in all that.

I'm not a huge fan of the machinery but others seem to like them and I don't mind being the odd person out and borrowing other people's machines from time to time. I just prefer to dig through the ground on my own power.

I guess I could give up the cute little oracle turrets from Portal.

Obsi, I know what the ores look like. I don't get world holes like that unless there's something wrong with the server. I haven't had any at all on the current world.

Yeah but you asked what you meant by being able to see them as the world loaded - that's how it looks when the world is loading. Normally you just see nothing but lava, but those ores are the only ones you see while the world is loading like that. So you end up seeing a bunch of shiny blocks. The screen shots weren't the best examples - in game you see all the colours of the shiny ores.

Alrighty, thanks for your views thus far, as Obsi said, she was not the only one, infact I was and still am a staunch critic of the intweak mod. I am also against the inv tweak mod on the Fronteer and Survival servers, and to be frank here as well, if this server stays I will be disabling mine, I find it annoying and fiddly. that being said, as Obsi said here it's available to all so thats fair and euatable, this is how we will make alot of our mod decisions, is it fair to exclude Z mod on the ground that 2 people dislike, does it add anything, does it cause lag etc etc. Your views are important and will help us reach reasonable decisions that are suitible to the community and all who enjoy TOG FTB.

Some people like these automation, but I am old school, and as thus I prefer to have total control as sometimes I want things to be different that what the pc thinks I want.

now back onto task.

For once I pretty much agree with Duck, (I know scary isn't it) except for the invTweaks which as he said is a bit fiddly but its client side so if you want to disable it you can.
However when it is configured correctly is quiet powerful and useful.
You can set it so that it will always put certain blocks into particular slots on your hotbar and into your inv.
If you want help setting it up to get the most out of it, let me know and I'll show you how
When I had it on vanilla have it set so my sword is first, then pick shovel, axe and bread then the next few slots were whatever I was working with at the time and the 9th one was my torches.
You can also setup multiple setups so you can switch between them with a button, before it was disallowed on our Vanilla servers I had a Lava setup for my Hotel construction which was 1 pickaxe and the next 8 slots a bucket.

Well, it was never allowed but people were using it despite the rules saying no mods were allowed other then the ones listed - we then discussed if it should be added to the allowed list, and it was decided to stay with it not being allowed.

.. but anyway

Yeah, XyCraft def needs to go. While the decorative blocks once done are actually really neat, the over abundance of xychordite ores and the useless aluminum and quartz crystals it adds are actually quite annoying. I'd also agree to get rid of the portal gun. And really, the MFFS is designed for PVP worlds. Which we won't be doing I imagine. And portal guns sounds like an unstable mod that often screws up and kills the user and lags the server.

recap: Drop XyCraft, MFFS and portal guns.

Came to think of another thing. From what I've heard the sub-blocks you can get by cutting blocks apart in RedPower can be quite rough on the server, so we might want to looking into limiting use of those.

Although I haven't tried it myself so I don't know if it's true or not, but given they aren't standard size I can imagine quite a bit of special cases has to be added to handle them.

Hmm Ive been using several of the new half blocks on my new mtn top house from spawn (on the mindcrack test). They are a bit different, but I like them. Didn't seem to difficult, but then again I don't tend to get a lot of the lag issue for some strange reason that other get even being roughly right in the middle of the distance between the Sever and Daed.
