Interestingly, the bad things that are the consequence of high flux seem to be happening at a much lower rate than is normal on the TOG server. So, you're getting less bad spawns than we should be seeing, but the flip side of that is that flux isn't bleeding off the way it should. It is possible to destroy an aura node if the flux in it builds up too much. This will cause there to be no vis in the area, so your wand won't recharge, and you won't be able to craft most Thaumcraft items in that area anymore.

aah i see.
Didn't know you could destroy the nodes.
good thing you can plant trees, but the aura will be miniscule until the server is updated with the newer versions in which you can bend nodes to your will.
agree with you there on the flux, may be dissipating slower because of the older version?
- ran the newer version on Bru's server and there were a LOT of whisps beating down on people

ok how ya destroy a node, I have read stuff about having to combine etc, cause Admiral has a nasty node in his place lol

Could be why wisps are appearing in the city? I have been getting heaps around my plot.. ..anyone care to investigate for nodes??

There's a dark aura node in Admiral's place. It's going to spawn wisps, nothing to be done about it.

What happens with destroying nodes is, if you build up too much flux much faster than the node can bleed it off, the node will eventually drop flux by simply reducing its aura strength. Manage to do that a couple of times, and no more node.
EDIT: This is from observation. There may be something I'm not seeing about this process.

I think that what's going on with wisp &c. spawning is that, out where I am, it's dark everywhere and lots of mobs spawn, so my node can't spawn wisps to bleed off flux, the area is at its spawn limit. In town, it's fairly well lit up, so a lot fewer hostile mobs spawn in range of a node. Wisps don't care what the light level is.
