Ok guys, I have found Thaumcraft 3 to be an awesomely interesting mod but can try your patients some times (and your materials stores) so I have 2 main resources that have helped me through researching and crafting.

Ok two things, and this is what helps

The first link is a list of all the items that match the energy,

IE
Ignis (Fire):

TNT (16) (BEST)

Now that I have managed to make it through several of these, I'm realizing that doing the wrong thing can cause environmental issues (excess Flux stuff). I didn't see any rules about Thaumcraft in the server rules, but should I assume that it would be a bad idea to do any research in the city. My plan was to build a remotish lab not too far from my external base.

Also, is the research data stored in the thaumanomicon or on the player, in that if I lose my thaumanomicon, do I lose everything I've learned?

I have a bunch of Vis and Earth stone i doubt i will ever use.. ..and before extracting it i didnt realise it could replenish lol. Might stick it in the community chest since i doubt ill use it anytime soon...

I wouldnt worry to much about flux, its just an annoyance more than anything, in later patches it may become more conserning

The problem with the flux is that the rainless thunder it causes can be annoying for everyone on the server.

generally it only effects the local area, however be careful of the flux, it will cause illness, darkness, storms, wisps and more if you get carried away.

I have been encountering some of these near my plot....
