In Mindcrack, the ability to teleport is reserved for those with ops power, ie. the Admin team. We have no choice in this.
However players have various alternate options. You can make a link book and use it effectively warp to a perscribed location. It can be used to make a "permanent" link through the use of a book stand or a Myst portal.
Some players on our Mindcrack server have also asked the Admin team for assistance in getting to places. This may be so they can visit other players or to get out of a server related problem (stuck in a chunk and can't move) or because they are lost. However, sometimes players ask to get to specific locations, like where they died (which is possible to identify on your minimap should you chose to select it).
The first of these options are fine. Being TPed to where you died is not. I am afraid that losing items on death through combat or misfortune or server lag is just part of the game. We all have to put up with it. It is up to players to arrange link books and beds so that they can quickly return to where they have died. Being TPed there is not an option.
Likewise, we will not teleport players back and forth between players or locations for the point of transporting inventories etc. Set up link books if you want to do that. There are plenty of books available if you break a bookcase in the Lich's towers in the Twilight.
So in brief, the Admin team can be asked to teleport you to another player if
- you want to visit them
- you are stuck in a server error
- you are badly lost (though 0,0 is a corner of the city wall... you can always just head for that)
Just don't over do the requests. Give the Admin team a chance to enjoy the game as well.
