Bees are a large local area, the same as magic. The rainmaker is a server wide effect.

You haven't happened to build your house in a rain forest? Apparently those biomes will make it rain very often.

Hurt no? Make it near impossible to do certain tasks? Oh yeah.

For just over 2 real time hours now, it has either been night time or raining, and even then it's been raining much of the night too. I could actually sit around and time it, but there is something up with this server where the rain is far more excessive than other servers.

Making it near impossible to do anything bee related.

I'd like to request a new Myst world. Standard terrain generation, but with no weather.

also have to consider that rain impacts solar generation, which impacts a lot of things a player might want to be doing (like working outside with bees, or having electricity).

I've half a mind to pop on for a few hours and time how often in rains in that timeframe for each day/night cycle...

Then clearly it isn't bees causing it, as we get it all across the server

The rain does have quite a bit of impact.

It affects solar (standard solar does not work in the rain, advanced solar does, but is slower)
It affects mobs (hostile mobs will spawn during the day in rain)
It affects bees (some people {like me} are trying to do stuff with bees, who won't work in the rain)
It's noisy (not everyone has underground houses and can thus avoid hearing it - sometimes it is so loud and annoying it gives me a headache and hinders me hearing players in mumble.)
It's laggy (some players experience more lag when it rains.)

Fair enough some rain is good - but as others have pointed out, when you're playing for a long time on the server, you notice that it really does go on for DAYS. It is too much.

Unfortunately it also seems there is nothing we can do about it by way of server settings...

I agree there is too much rain, at first I thought it was pretty cool however it really started getting too much for me.

Now I didn't think it was possible however I have done some reasearch and it seems that you can make a Rainmaker for FTB.

Hopefully if someone has made it that it can be removed, and if that's not the reason hopefully we find out what is causing the issue.

I must point out though that one of the features of the Wasteland is that it has regular lightning but no rain. I am not sure how it affects other mods like beekeeping given its low number of biomes.

This seems to be a common problem on Mindcrack servers in v7, based on a little forum crawling and watching the videos produced by the Mindcrack crew. Several of them commented on how much it rained when they were on that version of the pack. From watching their videos, is seems to have cleared up in v8.
