Thanks Mashiro, but most of the division's players are Australians so we would be looking for an Aussie server host.

It is still early days for the Mindcrack server which is the bulk of our problem. That is why we are taking steps like the MFFS to resolve them. However, it is a step by step progress. We are always open to suggestions, but just don't expect them to be taken up. We have a lot on our plate to consider, since we are dealing with a lot of unofficial mods which are not all designed as well as each other.

I did. The highest level, enderdragon, is a dedicated server that MIGHT cut it, for $97.42AUD a month. All their other offerings have less than the disk space we probably need (this is a guess). Oh, and the dedicated server level? None available. So, no, this is probably not a viable option.

Especially since we already have a server. I have a funny feeling that Exe might actually know what he's doing. You know, this being what he does for a living and all. Even if there weren't lag problems, pulling out a mod that the majority of the people aren't using to reduce where we can should be a no-brainer.

I am a system administrator for a government department... working on server and networks is my day to day job... maybe we should stop guesting and do more research. maybe look at setting up a dev and prob server

I think this is all getting out of context. I use these safes to allowed shared storage for the main group people I play with. Unfortunately for me I have had items taken on more than one occasion and because of this I have had to take the actions I have.

If you want to talk about mods being added how about we talk about mocreatures. The original FTB server was hectic and causing issues with the amount of chunks and entities that were loading. We had the restart of the server where issues were detected after the apparent trial of the new mods and had to be pulled down again on the first day of launch due to some elements not being tested.

I was told when I asked about MoCreatures that a 'majority' of the community wanted it. I can not find anywhere in the forums where a poll, vote or any other type of question was put forth if everybody wanted this mod. It loads a hell of a lot more creatures and causes a lot more entities to be present. Now I am not a sysadmin nor a server savvy person but I do know that if we are having issues with one thing, we shouldnt be adding more stress.

Instead of removing certain items how about we update the server to the current releases as these have addressed stability issues as is present in the releases logs and forum posts (FTB Forums). They have added items to help reduce the amount of issues with farms, such as the new multifarms.

It has been said it takes time to update a server (it is not super hard to update this server, I am running one on my home server with no issues updating) and then start to address any prevalent issues.

It has also been said that it is hard for people to update to the latest. I am happy to write up a step by step list of how to update, so people who are less tech savvy can update easily.

Just some thoughts, if you do not agree please do not talk down to me like I am a nothing and play nice.

Seems there are more sys admins and network folk among us than I thought.

I'll admit, if it was a mod that I used every day like the Myst Portals or Phase Pipes for example I wouldn't be happy, but if I was only a small group of people who used those mods and they contributed heavily to the server issues I would have to lump it and see them go.

I'm not in a position to contribute a great deal to server costs at the moment so any sacrifice I can make for the good of the community is a no brainer.

That said, is there an alternative to the safes that you are using?

I'm not doubting you reasons for needed them for a second, but I'd like to think that as a community we could get to the bottom of the missing items so you wouldn't need them, then it's win win for all, right?

just to make my position perfectly clear, I have no problem with the division using another server host. None at all.

Hi Akira,

There is only one option for 'shared' safe storage and that is the MFFS System. However I understand that as a community I shouldn't have to have these fears and I was willing to forget what had happened on the old server but it has since happened on the new server. Probably from my own loudmouthness in relation to my bee success.

It does seem as though the MFFS is causing an issue with the server but all the threads I have read on other forums have pointed that towards the forcefield side of things, and that is something we do not use.

The only other way to have shared private storage is to bury chests somewhere that only the people I want to know have access to it. That is painful when I am trying to synthesize my bees.

Please don't think for one second that I do not appreciate what you are doing. I understand Australian hosting is expensive and I do appreciate the place to play.

With in saying that as we the general players do not get told any information on what happens with the Admin side of things it does make it hard to grasp a true feel for what it is like to run the 'TOG' FTB server. I am not saying that we should know every little detail, but to be given no information leads to these situations.
