Quarries and the server crashing

Hi,
this may be a red herring, but just tried to place a quarry and the server went down. Pretty sure it was no bigger than the default size (was using markers). When I thought about it the previous crash may have also been not long after I tried to place the quarry (but had not started it).

It may also be complete coincidence. One thing I did notice earlier was that tubes were taking a long time to drop after they had been broken, but other things were fine.

Again, all this may be coincidence, but I figure some information is better than none!

I think I caused a crash by travelling to the Nether and I've seen another report that the same thing happened.

Did you travel to the nether in some specific way that made it happen, or does it just happen randomly?

I use the spawn portal in this case, but I also have link books and myst portals.
