Amused
Default power, Power, POWER

I felt the need to compile a summary of all the power generation and storage options in FTB/Mindcrack. I will format this later, but thought some folks may find it interesting.

Power in Minecraft FTB/Mindcrack
There are four forms of power:
EU (Electrical Units, used by Industrial Craft, Gregtech)
MJ (Mega Joules, used by Buildcraft, Thermal Expansion, Forestry)
BU (Blutricity Units, used by redpower 2)
Charge (Factorization)

Power Generation
EU
Advanced Solar Panel – 8 EU/t in sunlight, 1 EU/t otherwise. Output packet size 32 EU. Internal Storage – 32k EU. (Advanced Solar Panels)
Hybrid Solar Panel – 64 EU/t in sunlight, 8 EU/t otherwise. Output packet size 128 EU. Internal Storage 100k EU. (Advanced Solar Panels)
Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panel – 512 EU/t in sunlight, 64 EU/t otherwise. Output packet size 512 EU. Internal Storage 1M EU. (Advanced Solar Panels)
Generator – solid fuel consumption,
Charge-O-Mat - ? – can output 2048 EU/t. (Gregtech)
Fusion Reactor – 32,768 EU/t. Output packet size is 1M EU. (Gregtech)
Lightning Rod – 8,192 EU/t. Internal storage is 25M EU. One lightning strike generates the 25M EU. (Gregtech)
Diesel Generator – 12 EU/t. Liquid fuel power source. Biofuel Cell 6k EU, Coalfuel Cell 16k EU, Biofuel Bucket 32k EU, Bio Diesel Cell 32k EU, Nitro-Coalfuel Cell 48k EU, Fuel Bucket 384k EU, Nitro-Diesel Cell 400k EU. (Gregtech)
Gas Turbine – 16 EU/t. Burns gases. Methane Cell 45k EU, Hydrogen Cell 15k EU. (Gregtech)
Thermal Generator – 24 EU/t. Burns lava. Generates 30k EU per lava bucket. (Gregtech)
Semifluid Generator – 8 EU/t. Burns some fluids. Creosote Oil 3k EU, Biomass Bucket 8k EU, Biomass Cell 8k EU, Sodium Cell 30k EU, Lithium Cell 60k EU, Oil Bucket 64k EU. (Gregtech)
Generator – 10 EU/t. Burns some fuels. Fuel can/6 Coalfuel Cells 76,440 EU, Fuel can/6 Biofuel Cells 26,040 EU, Coal Coke 16k EU, Scrap Box 7,870 EU, Blaze Rod 6k EU, Coal/Charcoal 4k EU, Scrap 870 EU, Wood / Planks / Other Wood Items 750 EU, Saplings and Sticks 250 EU, Sugar Cane/Cactus 120EU. (Industrialcraft)
Geothermal Generator – 20 EU/t. Burns lava. 20k EU/bucket or cell. (Industrialcraft)
Nuclear Reactor – variable EU/t from 5EU/t to lots. There are books written about this! (Industrialcraft)
Solar Panels – 1 EU/t only in the sunshine. (Industrialcraft)
Watermill – 0.01 EU/t for each adjacent water block (max 0.25EU/t), or if fed with water manually 500 EU/bucket at 1EU/t. (Industrialcraft)
Windmill – 0 – 11.46 EU/t based on a formula covering height above block 64, wind strength percentage, raining/stormy. Can break if goes over 5 EU/t. (Industrialcraft)
Petroleum Generator – 10 -25 EU/t depending on fuel. Oil 30k EU at 10 EU/t, fuel 300k EU at 25 EU/t (Petroleum Generator)
Steam Turbine – 100 EU/t. Powered by steam with a constant input of 320 steam/tick. (Railcraft).

MJ
Redstone Engine – 0.01 MJ/t. No power source. (Buildcraft)
Stirling Engine – 1 MJ/t. Solid fuel power source or lava. Lava 1000 seconds, Coal Coke 320 seconds, Coal/Charcoal 80 seconds, wood/planks 15 seconds, saplings/sticks 5 seconds. (Buildcraft)
Combustion Engine – 1-6 MJ/t. Liquid fuel power source. Needs continuous supply of water when up to max temperature. Fuels – Lava 1MJ/t for 20k ticks, Oil 3 MJ/t for 20k ticks, Biofuel 5 MJ/t for 40k ticks, Fuel 6 MJ/t for 100k ticks (Buildcraft)
Electrical Engine – from 1MJ/t to 20 MJ/t. Configurable. Fuel is EU, with the highest efficiency being 5EU/t = 2MJ/t. (Forestry)
Biogas Engine – from 1MJ/t to 5 MJ/t. Needs lava to start and sometimes to operate. Water IMJ/t for 1k ticks (constant lava use), Liquid Honey 1MJ/t for 10k ticks, Milk 1MJ/t for 40k ticks (constant lava use), Seed oil 3MJ/t for 10k ticks, Biomass 5 MJ/t for 10k ticks. (Forestry)
Peat-fired Engine – from 1Mj/t to 2 MJ/t. Peat 1MJ/t for 5k ticks, Bitumous Peat 2MJ/t for 6k ticks. Produces ash as a byproduct. (Forestry)
Steam Engine – variable output from 0.2MJ/t to 2MJ/t depending on target requirements. Burns solid fuel and consumes water. Plank 426 MJ, Charcoal 3176 MJ, Coal 4776 MJ, Coal Coke 9576 MJ. (Thermal Expansion)
Magmatic Engine – variable output from 0.4 MJ/t to 4 MJ/t depending on target requirements. Burns lava giving a total of 18k MJ per lava bucket. (Thermal Expansion)
Hobbyist’s Steam Engine – 1.6 MJ/t. Powered by coal/charcoal. At optimum temperature burns 1k of heat/125 seconds generating 4k MJ over that time. (Railcraft)
Commercial Steam Engine – 4 MJ/t when supplied by an external steam source (steam boiler), using 20 steam/t. (Railcraft).
Industrial Steam Engine – 8MJ/t when supplied by an external steam boiler, using 40 steam/t. (Railcraft)
Blulectric Engine – up to 32MJ/t when supplied with blutricity. The engine automatically throttles its power output to match the needed input. Converts 1kW to 1MJ. (Redpower)

BU
Kinetic Generator - ? amount depending on windspeed. (Redpower)
Solar Panel – 120W – 200W/panel depending on how many connected together. Only produces when sunny. (Redpower)
Thermopile – variable output depending on configuration of heat and cold sources. 1 lava and 3 water gives 22.5 W/thermopile. (Redpower)

Charge
Solar Turbine – the only method for creating charge. Only works in sunlight. (Factorization)

Power Storage – does not include batteries and crystals
EU
Lapotronic Energy Storage Unit – buildable storage unit, where each module adds 1M EU and increases output rate by 1EU/t up to a max of 512 EU/t. Input is at 32 EU/packet. (Gregtech)
Adjustable Energy Storage Unit – Stores 100M EU. Output adjustable up to 2048 EU/t. Input max is 512 EU/packet. (Gregtech)
Interdimensional Energy Storage Unit – Stores 1G EU. Outputs at 2048 EU/t. Input max is 2048 EU/packet. (Gregtech)

awesome write up

for Charge (factorization) it has a solar turbine, unknown output varies based on the amount of mirrors around the turbine, required water to work so the 3 block trench of water for an infinite water source is required, = also uses only Lead wire and does not interact with other mods
