The matter fabricator at spawn is designed to help people starting out, who don't have enough materials to make their own. It was created using resources donated to the project by several players - so is designed to be there for community use.
Lately there have been a lot of players who have not been able to use it, as it is often already in use, and being used for long periods of time.
If you wish to use a fabricator extensively, you may be better off making your own, however they do require a lot of power to run (

So, to help make the use of the matter fabricator as fair as possible to everyone on the server, we have come up with some new rules regarding the use of the matter fabricator at Spawn.
This is basically just formalised sharing.
Stay by the fabricator
You must stay by the fabricator for the entire time it is processing (this should take about 5 mins for 1 stack). This ensures that the chunk remains loaded, so that it can process quickly, and also deters people filling it up and going off to do other stuff.
Yes, waiting around is boring - but you're getting free use of an expensive machine, so that is the price you pay
1 stack at a time
To keep the fabricator available for anyone who wants to use it, without people having to wait hours for a turn, you must only process 1 stack of scrap at a time. This means that if there are people waiting to use it, they should get the opportunity to use it without having to wait around for hours for you to finish processing multiple stacks.
Queue System
Following on from the above rule, if someone is standing by the machine, waiting to use it, you must let them use it after your stack has processed, and you may use it again after them.
If there is more than 1 player waiting to use it, you would need to go to the back of the queue before you may use it again. If nobody is waiting when your stack has finished processing, you may put in another stack and process that until someone else arrives to use it (then once the stack has finished, you would let them have a turn).
If you wish to use the fabricator and someone else is using it, let them know you want to use it after them, stand close by, so they know you are waiting to use the fabricator and wait for them to finish. As they are processing 1 stack only, this should not take too long.
Remember that if you linkbook/teleport into spawn, you may be invisible to other players, so stating in the text chat that you are there to use the matter fabricator, will let people know you're there if they can't see you, and makes it clear you're there for that reason, and not just hanging around.
Signpost
You should put your name on the sign to the right of the fabricator while your items are in it.
This way, should something happen (such as you getting disconnected), we know who those items belonged to, so we can return them to you (see below)
Items belong to the player who puts them in the fabricator
You must not remove uu-matter or scrap from the fabricator if you did not put it there.
If you find the fabricator unattended with items left in it, wait to see if the player who put them there comes back for them. If they have not returned after a few minutes, and the signpost says who was using the fabricator - you should move the items to their named chest in the "cloakroom" in the basement of Spawn building so that they can retrieve it when they come back.
If the signpost was blank and items have been left in the fabricator, you may move the items to the "uu-matter" chest next to the fabricator, and they will become community resources. You however are not to take them.
If you do not want any items moved to this "uu-matter" chest, and thus potentially taken by other players, make sure you put your name on the signpost for the matter fabricator, and have a labelled chest in the Spawn Cloakroom.
