Default A suggested Mod for the Mindcrack server.

The Modular Powersuits ( ~0.3.0-178~ MachineMuse's Modular Powersuits - Minecraft Forum ) mod by Machinemuse would fit in well with the current list of mods.
'Modular Powersuits is a Minecraft mod based around the idea of an inventor who tinkers with high-tech electronics and makes a suit of powered armor chock-full of useful gadgets and features.'

The cost of creation is dependent on what mods are installed and since we have Gregtech they are very very expensive ( MachineMuse.net ).

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion. We will consider it but please remember that the main issue isn't necessarily what a mod adds to the game. The Admin team will be considering other factors like
  • Are there aspects of this that are already in the game?
  • Will this add to the already too high cpu load?
  • Is this actually helping the servers in any way?
  • Is this actually helping the players in any way?
  • Is this detrimental to the community or the spirit of the server?
  • Does this make it harder for a new player to join the server?
  • Does this make it harder for the server to be updated?
Generally, we try not to add more mods to our servers. One of the reasons we are using Mindcrack is that it is a modpack. This makes a lot of things a lot easier for us and you.

However, I am not saying that by default this mod will be rejected. I am just warning you that it has a lot of hurdles to get past.

I understand that completely Sorontar and thought I should put that one up to give people a second route for a endgame suit instead of only the Gravichestplate/Quantum suit.

Another mod which will alleviate power problems caused by not being able to chunk load is the Power Converters mod by Powercrystal. It would also enable phase pipes to send usable eu (by attaching a converter) instead of only mj. This should result in less infrastructure , therefore less strain on the cpu.


This mod adds machines which convert eu, mj and railcrafts steam. This removes the need for massive steam boilers ( which can take 6 hours to get up to full temp) to be running full time.

[1.4.7] PowerCrystals' mods - MFR 2.1! +PowerConverters, NetherOres and more - Minecraft Forum this link is for all his mods but we would only be interested in Power Converters ( and powercrystals core mod) which doesn't add any ores or worlgen but only converts pwer back and forth.

The armor ect doesn't worry me as I rarely go out of my storage silo.....but the power convertion side would be very handy as it would allow me to scale down our Storage silo and power supply network from what it is currently to a much more efficent version.

I will be looking into that more later today.

I am not keen on the armour mod, to me we are already op'd I mean there are very few mobs that pose any threat to me.

I personally if a mod was to be offered, prefer something more magical like Ars MAgic.
