I can't help thinking that there is some sort of generator that takes biofuel and produce EU directly, instead of having to go through the magma crucible step wasting a lot of energy

Edit: Never mind, it says it's actually a lot worse than the magma crucible method... funny that.

You raise a good point though Daed, dfor those wanting to start, a Bio Gen is a great starting piece, cheap and is able to be run on renewable fuel.

though I found this part interesting (bold)

Quote:
Its much better to use Biomass or Biofuel to power engines for Magma Crucible and Thermal Generator combo.

Even when using cobblestone on the Magma Crucible one biomass bucket can provide 62,500 EU and a biofuel bucket provide 250,000 EU. Using Netherrack on the Magma Crucible will net twice the amount of EU

Yes Daed, hence the magma crucibles in there =)

Oh and Ducky, I'm not a fan of solar power. We're using it, but these are all stepping stones setups while we collate the infrastructure to get into the nuclear age (which is coming soon.)

Lastly, on the water front, it's part of the guided tour =)

But for information purposes here: On biofuel (haven't tested with fuel) the equilibrium point for water supply, via fluidducts, for combustion engines is 5 engines to 1 Aqueous Accumulator with 2 water sources. The final design I developed has a lag-safety-margin of 1 AA for 4 engines.

Edit: I considered that Ducky. So, if I had a way of generating netherack for free, I could double the number of thermal generators. <looks around> Nope, no un-ending netherack sources I can see. =)
