^ And that's why I'm not rushing to lvl 15 and playing more pvp. I've start posting on their forums too. Most of the issues and improvements I want are either on the way or have been discussed thoroughly about.

5 one time use gliders.... I'll save up for unlimited use vehicles =). I'm hoping we get to experience 1 of the global events that I saw in the the trailers. Hell, they could just make only chosen spawn and it would be more interesting.

As far as exploring I've found several new outposts that are unreachable b/c of the mist stuff. I wanted to try running it with a group full of engineers healing each other, but I'm sure that's been done b4 and failed. You died about as fast as landing in deep water. Oh well.

The glider pad cost is for the research. Making additional pads is much cheaper.

The melding does increasing damage the deeper you get into it. At some point it will far outstrip medics trying to chain-heal and go to near instant death.

Noises, the garage teleport is one of the exit points for a collection of tunnels that are under Trans Hub. Got in there via a break in the terrain at the Hub that lets you into that shielded hangar and from the hanger a break to get down on top of the tunnels. Looked like a sewer or some kind of transport system. One tunnel leads to that area near the garage where you get automatically teleported out, another tunnel leads next to the structures West of Trans Hub that have Chosen crawling all over it. The latter exit you can actually see and start to get into before it teleports you back out.

That bunker has a mate on the other side of the bridge in the same cliff face. That's where you can find the squid heads.

I've got a lvl 15 recon, 13 medic, and a pile of gear. Really wish they had trading so I could give away some of the groovy assault and engineer rares I've picked up but can't use. Now we have a wipe coming "shortly" so it won't matter.

Yeah, it cost me 100,000 crystite for the research nanoprint, got it now. That will get me a template to make the calldowns, though actually making the calldowns themselves will cost a lot less. How much exactly I'll know next time I log in.

I've got a 13 engi who's on the backburner, made lvl 9 on the dread, too. Went climbing, made it as high up as I'm going to make it without a recon with 30% jetpack thrust stacked on a 15% thrust frame. Even then I'm not sure this last part of the climb to the highest point on the map is doable. Got bored and decided to practice my gliding skills instead.

fyi, gliderpad calldowns "cost" 2 MPUs (which cost 100 crystite each to manufacture) and 1 carbonite casing (50 crystite, 15 carbon polymer.) Total spend, 250 crystite and 15 carbon polymer for 5 pads. So 50 crystite and 3 carbon polymer each. I'm finding the fastest way to get crystite is to refine minerals, the 1B processing nanoprints yield thousands of crystite as well as the refined minerals and other byproducts you need. The last thing you want to do, every time you log off this game, is visit a manufacturing station and leave some of the longer refining nanoprints running while you're offline.

Now if you good people will excuse me, I'm going gliding.

Carbon polymer comes easy and quickly from downed thumpers (you don't have to finish them, concentrate on the loot, if you die, doesn't matter.) and crystite to sustain a day of glider pad addiction can be had squishing bugs out the front of copa for ten minutes. Best 100k crystite I've spent so far

en route to the Arclight. Unfortunately it's a one way trip, but I've been there

Thought people might enjoy this, I wrote a short report in-character about my trip out there. Crossposted from the FireFall forum.

Quote:
Report on the status of the Arclight

13 TCN Angus McSplatter reporting. I have completed a preliminary expedition to the crash site of the Arclight. While a fragment of the hull which broke away during re-entry can be found in Broken Shores south of Copacabana, the bulk of the wreck is offshore in the Atlantic Ocean around 2km ESE of the watchtower on the beach at Copacobana, Fotezela, Brazil.

The wreck lies at the edge of inshore shallow water with her stern in deeper water which could be an impact crater from the time of the crash, or it may be where the continental shelf falls away into the deep sea floor; without hydrographic survey maps from before the crash or deep sea exploration vehicles, it is impossible to tell.

After venturing east and north around the cove from Copacobana, I managed to find a route to the highest point of that island (it's not really an island, a small spit connects it to the mainland,) and a flat enough surface to place a deployable gliderpad. From there the Arclight was clearly visible.

I found that by gliding at just above stall speed from the highest point of this island/headland, it was possible to make a very long, slow glide to the hull. The ship lies in a roughly north/south line with her bow facing north, elevated out of the water by a good 70m or more. The stern rests in the deeper water, giving the ship a bow-up pitch of about 20 degrees. She is listing about 10 to 15 degrees to her starboard side.

When viewed from the mainland, people have said they can make out lights on the ship. I can confirm, the ship is lit and appears to be powered. There are unnatural blue and white flares of light or radiation emanating from the stern of the ship and the water around it near where the malfunctioning arc-folding generators are located, which leads me to believe the drive is still both powered and active.

On approaching the ship I observed a cargo port on the port side 2/5 along the superstructure from the bow which looked like a sound landing point. I lined up a landing but when I reached the ship I flew straight through it! I can only assume this was due to the malfunctioning Arc-Fold engines, however I had no chance to investigate further since as we all know, battleframes and water don't mix, and without anything solid in this dimension to land on, I perished.

Itis my duty to inform all who may come after me that a journey to the Arclight to see her for yourself requires specialised equipment, a good investment of time and is strictly (until the arc fold generator is shut down or repaired to provide a landing platform,) a one-way trip, but if you're determined and you're willing to do some exploring and climbing, it's possible to get there.

I will upload video of this expedition as soon as possible.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the devs never expected anyone to glide that far
