Rainbow six Vegas and the newer and more improved Rainbow six Vegas 2 are both very good and Tactical FPS, Also there is an online Co-Op mode (you and a mate can take on the Computer AI over LAN or The Net) and straight forward team based Online Maps...Set on Realistic Mode it is extremely Challenging (Get hit once in the right place and that's yer lot and the Blur effect when you do get hit is very disorientating) also you have to keep yer eye on the your Computer controlled Assault team by providing covering fire for them.
Features also include Grappling (climb down a rope and crash thought windows for the element of surprise) and and Run to cover (stand next to a wall press the cover button and you' got to a top half 3rd person view where you can either take careful aim or Spray and Pray You have a choice of going in Loud and Heavy or attach a silencer to take out the bad guys quietly as not to alert the NPCs of your whereabouts. set into days world you are equipped with both Thermal and starlight night vision (but be wary so are some of the NPCs in Vegas 2) are well as grenades(lethal and non-lethal) and flashbangs, you can also custum your weapon loadout, appearence and Camo Sets and has alot of ingame unlock challenges and upgrades as well as a set of realistic training missions which you can undertake with a NPC team of 2 men or Lonewolf

A couple of oldies that can be had cheap but are still worth the effort are Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood, a excellent TFPS and Swat4, where the challenge lies in not killing anyone.

Agreed SWAT 4 is brilliant and the great feature about it is that it randomises Bad guy/Hostages location everytime you play
