Hi Spectre, Is that really true we can have Ghost Recon for free? What U mean by free? Where was it?

Pretty confused right here, cause I don't want to spend my cash for the old GR after knowing there's a free one.

Did u have the link to that free GR site bro. Let me know if u do..

Firstly, I think you need to be registered on this site to grab the file (Internode), and secondly, I'm sorry to say, it's limited to the US for some reason. I'm assuming it checks your Windows Region to determine this, and you are allowed to swap your region five times before it locks.

I used to do this with (completely) legal overseas DVD's I'd buy.

So yes it's free... You need to register with UBIsoft before hand... and there's a bit of advertising stuff there, but hell, if it's the cost of a great game (and you can actually play it) then it's well worth it.

For the record, I've not tried it yet. I couldn't be bothered with region swapping, but I guess some people here will be in different circumstances.

If its anything like the far cry (for free ad supported) by Unisoft then all you ahve to do is make sure your ubisoft account is set to america. Also, the ad's in far cry are quite unobtrusive - a good deal IMO

Ubisoft have stopped accepting registrations for the ad supported version of FarCry until they can figure out how to restrict it to US residents only. I assume the same applies to Ghost Recon.

Oh, thast a bit rude of them - if they are going to make money off the US version than why not let the rest of us have it? I hope my far cry will continue to work, or will it just stop one day ....

Not really a big deal either way. I picked up Far Cry in a retail store for $7. Ghost Recon isn't much more, and comes with all of the available expansion packs too.

I just wanted to try it on my setup to see how it looks! Some of the old games I've gone back to are so bad I can't play them anymore! Spoiled these days!

great thread guys.

I've been playing Urban Terror with Muppet this week for a fun trip down memory lane. Open Arena is great for work machines because it just runs from the exe, no install. I've also loaded up Farcry again, so I'll drop into that thread also.

I'm looking forward to giving all of these a go at the Great Southern LAN.
