I feel its a shame Bethseda released the game as is, and that it's reflected in the community playing the game referring to 'essential' mods. With a bit more play-testing, short-commings like these would have been sorted. On another note, there has been some patches released I believe. What, if any, problems do they sort out? Only the constant crashing of the game, or even some of the game-play issues? Anyone know...? |

In instance I was playing a thief with skills such as Security, Sneak, Acrobatics and none of these main skills was improving my fighting skills: However, I gained levels fast because I was using them and monsters where getting stronger. But my fighting skills weren't. Guess what was the result: any creature in the wood was owning me (but few levels before I could kill them). I had great fun during 15 hours but after that ... no. Of course, you can answer me "there are mods": but is it the player's job to fix the gameplay? Certainly not. Oblivion was one of the biggest disappointment last year.

Oblivion is a great game - but I never finished it as I got distracted by other games.
I remember becoming Arena champion in Oblivion. I am currently playing Jade Empire (PC) and trying to become Arena champion in that game is a lot harder than it ever was in Oblivion. |

I have been plying Oblivion on the 360 as my PC didnt handle it well. I have been enjoying it alot despite the lack of mods. Loading times are surprisingly short and there are all the achievements you can get.
When you get the Jade Golem stance I believe it is the arena becomes alot easier. |

Okay. Father visited on us Wow players on Venty at Christmas and spoke a lot about this game. It had me curious but I didn't rush out and buy it. I was still madly involved with WoW.
I'm originally a RTS guy, but MMO exclusively the last three years - a little L2 & a lot of WOW. Now Oblivion looks like a game I want to try, in a genre I've only dabbled in with Diablo 1 & 2. But I like the idea of the mods for the game, by reading everyones post here they seem necessary to play a balanced game - a lvl1 rat should always be a lvl1 rat. So I'm asking for a list of required mods to install when I load and play my game. I'm not looking for cheats, I would merely like to enhance the game. O3 sounds like a required mod. Any others you can recommend? Thanks Weblo
