Very good review. I too have been playing this on the PC. Seems like it is much easier to play.
But totally agree with a mini-map. I actually picked up the second forge before getting the first! Maybe even just a small description of the quest you have to complete to give you some idea where the goal is would go a long way to helping. Only other gripe is that sometimes it seems like the minions commands get stuck leaving me locked in a certain camera view or my minions running to their death in water. Otherwise one of the most polished games I have seen in ages. Reminds me a lot of Dungeon Keeper.

You ARE able to upgrade the individual minions. They are equiped with a large variety of weapons and armor along with an occasional pumpkin. This is represented by a % meter showing the strength of your overall minions. They keep the arms they've aquired until they die, or are sacrificed.

Great review! I started playing this one yesterday and I found the experience improves dramatically with the addition of an Xbox 360 gamepad. Still no help for the camera controls but it sure beat using the keyboard and mouse in my opinion. Been playing LoTRO for the better part of a year so the first world was hilarious to play.
Thanks for sparking my interest in this one! |
