nice write-up big J. if i may just pick on one small thing: the powerball is technically called an 'orb'
![]() and what do you mean by make the enforcer (the pistol) more accurate? surely the accuracy of a weapon depends completely on the skill of the TOGger wielding it? are you trying to tell us something? lol j/k mate, you did say it was a personal feeling. i really feel i need to come to 2k4's defence when you call it an update of 2k3 - it was a new game, with a new game-type and new maps, not many maps (i forget how many, 2k3 wasn't played for that long ) from 2k3 actually made it into 2l4, and the changes between the two games were significant enough to not make the maps from 2k3 compatible with 2k4 without significant work in the editor.ah, the editor! the game ships with all the tools needed to create your own maps for UT3, and though the initial learning curve is quite high, video tutorials are included with the collectors edition version, although I'm sure if you posted over in the UT3 forum someone would be able to burn them and send them to you *coughs* also worth mentioning is that you can get decent FPS on a low-mid range computer, from what I've been told. and hopefully the look of the menus will be fixed in upcoming patches ![]() why not come check out our forum over here? we have an intra-TOG game every Thursday night (aussie eastern time about 8:30pm starting, usually runs to 11:30ish with some awesome matches ) and we love hanging crap on each other in the TS channel... well, those with working mics do, anyhow *hangs head*nice work Jector.

Forgot about the rename on the orb. ![]() UT2004 was an UT2003 update, from what I remember. A pretty big one, but an update none the less. That's why they sent folks that got UT2k3 rebates for picking up UT2k4. It was a significant change, but used much of the old framework. Still, no need to come in UT2k4's defense with me. Love that game. In fact, most casual players I'd likely send to 2k4 instead of UT3 just because of the extra polish, modes, and maps. UT3 has the ability to surpass it, but they need to put more work into it before it will, IMO. Thenkew. And give Spec a hand, guys, since he was responsible for making the slideshows from my screenshots. Thanks again, Spectre. Looking forward to having you on the Unreal battlewagon.

Nice article mate

I'm also very dissappointed they dropped the Last Man Standing gametype, especially after the huge popularity of the UT2004 AM/TAM mod. Quote:

The article has stimulated my interest again.
You could have mentioned that there is still no linux client. An old post which about covers it http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/...linux-ut3.html Newer posts say there is nothing new Linux Client Communication - Epic Games Forums Given that the client was supposed to ship at game lauch, and the time delay since then I am not really holding my breath anymore. Any chance of a ut2004 revival? ![]() Last edited by ecru; 2nd February 2008 at 08:37 AM. |
