TOG - The Older Gamers

Please use this thread to discuss my article about the upcoming MMO Stargate Worlds. As a fan of both the movie and the shows, I spent some time digging through the fan-run Stargate Worlds Wiki (which is a depository for all things SGW) in order to find out what this game is going to be about and whether or not its worth getting excited over. (Spoiler Alert: It is)

Enjoy but please note that the game is still in development and much is subject to change...I already had to edit the article based on a recently released podcast interview with the devs.

I've been playing WoW since release and no other MMO has appealed to me but Stargate Worlds sounds exciting.

I'll be checking out the Wiki and waiting to hear more from Toggers playing the betas (as much as they can share that is).

I Know there are lots of people in that boat. I just hope they all find the issues so that the game is as good as it can be at launch.

Thanks Arep for putting together this preview article on "Stargate Worlds".

One question that has been gnawing at me. Is looking at the official developer forum site and noticing the Command sub-forum msg board. There are literally dozens of guilds set up in advance that may not even have closed beta access yet.

Should we as TOGers start kicking around the idea of shoring up the request of our own Command unit? (at least reserving a sub-forum for ourselves?)

I don't think that would be a bad idea at all. Call the command 'The Older Gamers' just to let folks know we'll be playing there. Having the command set up on the forums doesn't lock us into anything...we can still figure out the actual name, leadership, etc in the usual way as we get closer to launch.

I don't mind at all...my sinister motive for the article was to get Toggers excited about the game anyway.
