Hila,
Thanks for some very interesting articles. But as someone who is a one-game player and understands nothing about computers (except how to turn it on and then turn to hubby and go "It's not working" I guess what I'm getting at is that I'd like to see some more diversity in article content. I do understand, however, that we are a gaming community and as such the majority of articles are going to reflect this interest. But for those of us less technologically inclined perhaps we could include:
Anyway...I can always go visit the lounge for some light entertainment and no technobabble. You guys are doing a great job, keep it up ! |

I would like to know if we could look into doing a podcast? I'm reading through two books on the subject and have been listening to two of the better podcasts on gaming available - the PC Gamer podcast and Snackbar Games Podcast, so I'm learning a lot about them!
Would love to do that. I also think the suggestion to have some sports-writer style coverage of FPS matches would be pretty cool though it would require the ability for the writer to view the match as either a player himself OR a spectator. I also think that DCs for each division should be responsible to share some notes on the current state of their divisions to give everyone a feel for each div's status (as Atrayo suggested I think). Great ideas here.

Well I see that they had a podcast but it seemed very much like a clique-y podcast for mostly the Aussie side of Tog that wasn't really about games as much as it was about inter-personal joking and such. Fun as it is, I think we should put together a gaming podcast (with reviews, some gaming news, etc) that also includes some general TOG news with the focus more on gaming in general.
I suspect that would be more enjoyable for the vast majority of TOG members than some in-jokes among a few TOGGERS, as funny as some of them are!

The podcasts that were done in the past By Yama and Rayne were not based on gaming, correct. They were more of a “get to know your fellow TOG” or a sort of audio member spotlight. As you can see from the previous post to yours, there are members that want this type of content as well.
There is room for all of it. It is just a matter of getting things organized and finding the people who want to do it. The Journalist position (in its current format) and the adding of content to the site (not just news items) is young and a ever changing and evolving process. The feedback and requests for content here are all very much taken to heart and we will strive to provide as much as we can of it. You may not see everything that is requested this month or next month, but we will get there over time. It is with your feedback that the TOG site and TOG itself will grow and become a better place.
