I like the Mario Bros. one, but the Quake mods seem really stupid to me, and to tell the truth, sort of like half arsed art school projects. All ID engines are pretty versitile, and much more could be done besides erasing the visuals, unless you really got a lot of people playing and tried to play by ear alone, especially with good players that rely on sound, 1v1ers. I'm still waiting for video games to take off as an artistic medium the way film did, but the communities aren't merging very quickly since they are fairly mutually exclusive. That being said, I guess I should just be glad that any stride in that direction has been taken at all.

saw a greaT PIECE AT EXPERIMENTA IN MELBOURNE A COUPLE OF Yoops soz caps years back by a chinese artist i think where he played a FPS and recorded it then recorded himself in RL pretending he was in the FPS then composited himself into it.
Really cool. Fundamentally right on the money. As the shit is going down he runs up to the camera and screams at the viewer to duck for cover etc etc. great piece of work. the strength of it came from being viewed in RL not on line.
