This is a great article Ninox thanks for covering it.

In the past month or so after a hefty electric bill at home. I've decided to start turning off the power switch to my PC Tower and the Cable Modem (with it's five LED lights looks like it does a "The Dance of the Fireflies")

I've done this ever since i had my first computer a 486 back in 1997. I've never had a major break down with a component. And i always have had the pleasure of donating my past computers to a local charity.

Although i've always had my DVD player & Stereo unplugged. Now i'm started to turn off when not in use my microwave oven and secondary TV set in a bedroom. Since all that idle consumption has always burned a hole in the power bill without fully realizing it.

Nice article Ninox =). Something to think about when I finish up on the computer for the day.....

I was reading an article in one of my more 'alternate' magazines the other day in which David Suzuki recommended that every family try to eat at least one vegetarian meal a week as part of an energy saving regime. Makes sense...after all, animals are at the top of the food chain and plants are at the bottom! Now to convince Melski (the original meat man) that vegetables are good....

Maybe I should now do one on how to save energy in your gaming rooom.
And as for vegetables saving the world does anyone realise how much methane gas all the cows in the world produce? Tip for the vegatable hating meat eaters (like me).... roast your veges... tastes better, try roast corn, sweet potatoe or kumara ..yumm.

Come on. Everyone knows that vegetables are what food eats.

Is it possible that peak oil and other concerns will see the demise of online gaming and entertainment via the Internet?
