TLDR
Only joking!! ![]() Another well written and researched article, though until the mid-section when directly addressed, you appeared to be stating that the 5 races came with the original game. I suppose when trying to get the information accross in a nice, clear manner it is difficult not to bog down the important points with sub-points and distractions. Great article, and game; and I agree completely with the conclusion. |

Not sure what TLDR means so I missed the joke, unfortunately.
Hmmm...I'll have to work on clarity in these reviews. Glad you liked the review and the game. It's quite fun and had me brutally addicted for a good solid 3 weeks straight. Now that I've beaten it, I'm less addicted but I do plan to go back and try to beat the game with a race other than the Tau next time.

Too Long Didn't Read
![]() To be honest mate, the clarity wasn't really an issue. I've come accross far worse than that in other paid-for reviews. Many ambiguities that were never resolved, etc. I was fishing for something to say other than 'Great article again, well done'. ![]() ..and if you fancy a multiplayer game sometime, hop on to the Headless Horsemen TeamSpeak and you'll be sure to find one or more of us are up for it most times. We almost always play COOP versus the computer, with very rare exceptions. I guess we have a much better time playing as a team, and our skill levels vary. I completed it with Space Marines, and am now slowly going through again with Necron, but currently Nercron are being whored up to the fullest in online games by myself. You are right that once the massive juggernaut is going it's a pain to stop. I most often seem to play with TOG|oosk who likes to play as Tau. Those two forces combined are nothing short of devastating, with the Necrons ability to absorb so much punishment on the frontlines, and the Tau's supreme firepower from just behind (or when it comes to the FireWarriors, from half way accross the map). For a human opponent, keeping a good eye (and a good bit of firepower) where the Necron Commander fell is essential, especially after he's gained the Essence of the Nightbringer ability so you can fell him before he uses it; also his resurrection ability that allows a player to vastly exceed the squad cap limit is a VERY powerful ability indeed when used correctly. However, not having enough experience in 'real' online games versus other people, I couldn't really say if the Necrons are overpowered or not. I hope it's not discovered to be the case, because that would somewhat devalue my achievements with them thus far. ![]() Anyway, if you haven't yet tried the online side of this game, I think you should. It certainly is the better half of it for me, and I really enjoyed the single player. Last edited by bigtabs; 5th December 2006 at 07:45 AM. |
