PS3: Trophies Question

Silly one guys but do you need to be signed into the PS3 network to get awarded trophies?

No you don't have to be logged in to PSN to earn trophies. Your local trophy collection will sync with the PSN when you are logged in.

Exactly.

The trophies are determined by the game your playing and stored locally on your PS3. When you click on the Trophies section in the XMB they will sync with your PSN account if your logged into PSN.

Sometimes they come up with an error and the sync doesn't occur.

Just wait it out, try again the next day. They will eventually sync.
