Default MAG Weapons/Equip Tier

I'm a little confused about tiers.

Um........can anyone confirm that you don't have to buy the weapon upgrades on all tiers.

You can skip a tier and buy the highest level item and add it's special features?

I read somewhere people were buying tier 3 sniper rifles and by passing the tier 2 when moving from tier 1.

This would also be of benefit to the equipment purchases. Buying medic equip and then going straight to full resuscitation.

Maybe that is why I see people with top level abilities and only play like noobs.

Getting the feeling I'm going to respec again.

I can answer myself. That is a yes on that front.

The respec option allows you to reselect all you choices again so you can bypass all the selection you might have made at the lower level and only choose that which you actually want you character to have.

You can go straight to the highest tier of any weapon/equipment as long as you have the right number of skill points. ie. level.

Just be aware some of the top level items can use some of the lower level scopes, pods etc.

Also note the highest level heavy machine gun is slow and cumbersome. Which could spell your doom in a gun fight depending on who shoots first.

If anyone else has further info please feel free to share.

Ok I am a bit confused now.

I thought you needed at least two points in each tier to move to the next.

I shot to the top tier assault rifle bypassing the lower one,and ended up taking one skill because I was stuck with that or a 3 point one, just to move up in the tree.

Granted I am happy with the rest of the points I used in that tree.

Hm...I will check that out myself. When next I'm in game.

haven't read anywhere that we need to allocate points in the lower tiers first. Although that's exactly what I did. until I did the first respec at level 15.

Yeah, you have to have 2 points in a tier to unlock the next.

Can I just say for the record. I hate knives in this game.

Scenario:

Say a shipping contained for distance.
He's coming towards me with a knife.
I'm facing him with a machine gun.
I'm shooting into him all the while stepping backwards.
He's traveling towards me, takes one stab at me and I'm dead.

The distance should have been a factor but that tiered enhancement allowing for ranged attack with a knife just seems unfair.

One stab.........versus 5 - 10 rounds. Get real.

The other interesting one is shotgun, one shot at close range and your dead.

Oh well, back to dieing.

Stealthy build.

Points to take note.

Improved stealth - Will make you invisible on the motion sensor grid as long as you walk, not run and don't fire a weapon.

Sensor Jammer - Will make you invisible on the motion sensor grid as long as you don't fire a weapon.

These two options don't stack. So the best option of these two is Sensor Jammer.

You don't show up as a red dot on the mini map for the enemy when you walk or run.

You will only show up if fire an non-silenced weapon.

Silencers - Silences a weapon so that you don't make a sound which can be detected by enemies. This could be a red dot on the mini map and/or as a whiteish circle on the enemies hud.

Knife - Doesn't make a sound when attacking.

Feel free to add to this.

Sensor Jammer + Light armor + knives is brilliant fun.

Playing that Raven sabotage map with the ruins last night, defending A. Used that build and flanked the enemy then just hid in the bushes, rushing out occasionally just to knife people. Ended up with 26 kills. Great fun but the xp was crap compared to playing medic.

Yes. Medic rules. After all everyone needs saving from time to time.

Hell for some of us that's all the time.
