PS3: MAG (What should I do now)

Okay people it would appear I will reach level 60 in SVER on the weekend.

What is my next step.

Go forward and join VALOR company to continue the level 60 trend and the third Faction trophy. (Lone Wolf)

OR

Rejoin RAVEN Squad to get more squad action happening. (Team Player)

What are the current levels of the players in Raven. How close are they to reaching level 60 and the transition to VALOR.

So far, out of the Factions I prefer RAVEN, so ultimately I will be going to RAVEN after completing VALOR. It takes about a month to reach level 60 playing every night for a few hours.

Ile be ther in 2 weeks, but I would like to wait a little bit for the other Raven loonies to join. But its up to you, and like you said you will do 60 again in a month so you will be back with us soon enough any way

Done deal. A few friends mention how fast I am leveling although B_A_D_D_I_E is currently beating me 2 times veteran (VALOR > RAVEN > ) now level 15 on SVER.

Ancient_One has decided to go undercover in the domain of VALOR to gain valuable Intel on strategy, vulnerability and game play.

Will complete level 60 asap and rejoin you in Raven in a few weeks.

Well I have to say Raven is the best Faction in MAG.

I'm not liking VALOR at all. Slow to level at present and the map layouts are not very good for this Faction. Although I have been in a few games where they still won as the attacking team was not very good.

Currently level 10, I found it hard to get in a game last night. I think their are less players in VALOR maybe as a consequence of the map problems which has the cause of not fielding a full team for games, so the games don't start until they do.

Only have 80 more points to finish off SMG medal and Team Leadership medal. Then I will start using a PDW - Personal Defence Weapon. A lot of Commando's use this weapon as it has a very fast rate of fire. ie. pepper your enemy with a heap of bullets. Soft armour targets are taken out fast with full armour targets taking a little more damage.

Weapons are pretty even so really it comes down to bunket placements

SVER have excellent bunker layout's in their maps making them very defendable.

I think RAVEN is the best team make up with a well rounded map layout but some of their bunkers are easily taken down.

VALOR have the worst bunket layout of the Factions. Making it very difficult to defend but not imposible.

Leveling wise I have to say SVER is the fastest to level in. Not sure why other then maybe well defendable positions.

Followed by Raven then VALOR up last.

Oh before I forget. When I became a Veteran for the second time I found I had Poison Grenades by default.

Not sure this is a glitch with a VALOR character or an advantage awarded for reaching Veterans twice. Might see if I can find some details online about it.

Remember downloadable content out tomorrow. Better sniper rifles and armour.

Hey, just a Q, A_1... 'cos you've been there.
When you reach lvl 60 and change factions, do you get the choice of which faction you then play? Or do you have to play the faction that you're currently using?

(I just read that back, and the question doesn't even make sense to me...)
What I mean is, BWO example:
You've "finished" Raven and SVER, and you're presently playing Valor.
When you start a MAG session, do you get the choice to play as Raven SVER or Valor, or do you have to play Valor?

Do you mean:

1. Can I play in any Faction at any time if I hold a Veterans status in all three?
or
2. Do I have to choose another Faction once I complete and choose to go Veteran.
or
3. Can I stay in the same Faction if I choose to go Veteran.

Answer for 2 and 3 above:

You can choose the same Faction. When you go Veteran on the login screen it takes you to a Faction selection screen which displays all three Factions. I think it's the same screen your presented with when you first created your character. Choose the Faction, then select and your reborn in that Faction at Level 1 with 10% extra experience bonus. You can choose a different Faction or stay in the same one.

I did notice I had a freebie this time around with the poison canisters but not sure if I had that with my previous Veteran or if it was a glinch in the VALOR Faction. I'll accept it anyway.

So I guess what could happen if people start to finish RAVEN and come over to VALOR I could just go Veteran and stay in VALOR with them. No problem.

The jury is out on 1 above which I don't think is posible. If I hold a Veterans status in all three Factions each time I log into the game I can choose whatever Faction I wish to play in. Their was speculation but I don't think it's true. Will check out the MAG forum and see if anyone can clarify.

I think you just keep choosing a Faction once you reach 60 and go Veteran. The game keeps a score of how many times you have gone Veteran and display's it on your profile but other then that I don't see any other benefits other then what I have indicated above.

Oh yeah the backgrounds and music change in each Faction.

VALOR has a green background, barb wire and forests. Hillbilly kind of music to it. Yeehaa........the soldier looks like a buff Marine.

SVER is orange. Like a young punks kind of feeling. Techno type of music with splashes of black paint appearing on the background like brush strokes that fade.

We all know Raven's black background. Very nice and modern feel.

Yeh, my question was option 1, I guess!

meaning: if you log in tonight, given that you're a veteran in Raven and SVER, can you choose to play a game as a Raven, for example? Or do you have to play as Valor until you hit level 60.

Difficult question to articulate :/

Good Question.

I think the option only comes up when you acheive level 60 and once you choose a new Faction then your in it till you either delete the character or go Veteran again.
