"I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience."


In addition to the American delay, the official Smash Bros. site also announced a push-back of one week for the Japanese edition of the game. "Dairantou Smash Bros. X," as it's to be called in Japan, was scheduled for release in that territory next Thursday, January 24. With the delay, though, its new Japanese date has become January 31 – not as significant a setback for fans in Japan, but still frustrating all the same.
