My son has bought COD4 for the PS3 , I have it on PC.

I wince watching him play with the controller

Is it possible to hook up a USB keyboard and mouse to play?

yes you can
then install yellow dog linux and you have a pc aswell

Before adding the Yellow Dog if your going to go down that direction make sure you back up your hard drive content, save games setting etc.

For COD4 the controller isn't bad but if you normally pc fps then it will take you a while to adjust.

Cannot stand FPS controls on consoles personally. I have Rainbox Vegas 2 and I hardly play it unless I have a mate over. I just think of how much faster I would be playing with a mouse and keyz.

I may look at Frag FX in the future which is a mouse and keyboard solution for consoles but at the moment it just seems a little 'homemade' and gets mixed reviews.

So i just stick to the PC for FPS.

PS3 is still good for 3rd Person shooters like GTA etc (ahh autoaim!)

Exactly the same here m8
FPS on consoles just feel like I am playing left handed

I was actually curious enough to shell out for one. I wrote my initial opinions of it in a post somewhere....

Since then, I've not had the fragfx out for anything more than curiosity's sake, and certainly haven't used it "in anger" in online comps.

I was going to invest in Bad company, but if none of you guys are playing I will give it a miss.
