This bit should read
The PS3 voip is great when people use the right headsets and mics, but atm 90% of people still use the mic on the eyetoy which is crackly and very poor quality.

Thats a fair call Click as I have not had any trouble hearing you and I think it has been the same for me(?)

I use a decent Logitech head set and I know click does as well.

Has anyone tried the new SONY Bluetooth headset?

Either way the XBOX VOIP does still seem to work better than the PS3 version.

Of note though: If an XBOX player with a crappy router joins your party / chat session an echoing effect can occur that creates merry havoc with your communications. (I don't know the technical explanation, but I do know that if the router restricts the "NAT", connection issues for communication and joining games are created causing echo, drop outs and major frustration!)

I don't know if this is an issue for PS3.

Unrelated: As I was testing out Resistance 2 last night I discovered something very sad on my friends list. Poor George has not been online with his PS3 for almost 300 days! When do you get your beloved console back mate?

Update: I was playing around with my XBOX and digital camera today and I discovered something. Thanks to the new update you can now use your own pictures to create a wallpaper.

No more having to shell out money for someone else's designs for your background. I have not had an in depth look, but I could not find a way to create your own avatar unless you take an in house photo of your avatar or a picture with your XBOX camera.

Side note: If there is an award for the most disturbing TOG avatar on XBOX live, it would have to go to Scratches Fury. Those of you who have him on your friends list will know what I mean

I haven't read this, but could be worth the read prior to a console purchase.

I have just bought a PS3 for its blueray player. As a xbox360 owner I would say the ps3 is a better console.
I have the lastest 160gb version of the ps3 and it is quieter and cooler than the xbox. My xbox has allready had the "ring of death" repair.

Also xbox live costs money, PS3 network is free.

PS3 network is free?

How many multiplayers in an average FPS game can a PS3 title have. Is it the same as xbox360?

Resistance 2 can have up to 64 players at one time (and it works well too)

Killzone 2 will have 32 players.

16 to 32 is about the average. So about the same as XBOX

As XBOX live is costing me around $16 - $17 Aus a month with the current conversion rates, the PSN is starting to look like a far cheeper option.

Never pay for it if you can get it for free.
