Default Headphones with Mic (boom)

Okay I love playing my PS3 but I hate one ear bluetooth headsets.

What should I be looking for in a good headset (priced low) both ears with a mic on a boom arm.

Are their any Logitech or Microsoft headsets compatible with the PS3.

The other reason I want 2 ears is for single play at night while the wife and kids sleep.

Any suggestions.

Do you want to listen to the game through the headset as well?

I have a "2 ear" logitech headset but I have not tried to use it as the source of the game sound. I will give this a go this afternoon and let you know.

I almost bought one of those keypads but 1) I am worried about the L1 and R1 buttons getting covered up, and 2) I can get a fully functioning Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for $90 (vs $80 for those small keys etc.)

How have you found the key pad so far?

Sorry mate the wife whisked it away to the Christmas cupboard of presents.

It's buried deep in their mate and to seek it out with the guard handing around would see my demise.

LOL fair enough.

I had a win today. Harvey Norman near my house is moving location so they had a big sale. I ended up picking up the Logitech Bluetooth PS3 Keyboard for $70 instead of $140 and the Logitech Bluetooth PS3 Headset for the same price instead of $100.

The keyboard works great, has all the controller buttons and even has a notebook style mouse touch pad.

Mongrel: Yes I would use it to listen to the game music and conversation as well as the in game chat.

I think there may be a setting change to allow this. I will tinker with my PS3 when I get home from picking up my kid.

Nope you can't

There is no feature that allows you to redirect game / movie / music sounds to a head set. To do this you have to attach a head set to your TV or amplifier (depending on how you have your sound set up). If you do this though you wont be able to chat ... unless you have four ears?

I noticed with my logitech headset that my mic plug and my earphone plug go into a usb jack, which in turn is plugged into the PS3. I wonder if I remove the earphone plug from the USB jack and plug that into my TV or Amp, will I be able to achieve what A_1 is wanting to do?

Anyone else have any ideas on how to keep A_1 playing and married?
