PSP Problem
Hi all,
I just purchased a PSP-3000 and im trying to load themes on it. but how to load the CTF files???? Also does anyone know if i can actually hack it so i can play games that i download?? Help would be greatly appreciated

Once you have downloaded the themes attach your PSP via USB cable.
Once done create the following file tree "X":/PSP/THEME (Note: "X" is the drive letter assigned to your PSP by your PC. For example, Mine comes up as D:/PSP/THEME) Than just copy across the themes you want to use, disconnect your PSP from the PC and select the theme you want by going to Settings / Theme Settings in your PSP menu. As to moding your PSP, there was a thread a while back about a battery hack that allowed you to play Home Brew games, but I have no idea if it will work on the new model. http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/...-homebrew.html Be aware this may not work on your model and may damage it. This will also void your warranty. Hope that helps

As for the hack, you may have alot of trouble with the 3000. If you really want to hack, you'd need an earlier model PSP and earlier firmware version ie. 1.50. This comes on the really old games and will install over newer firmware versions. The newer fw versions do not allow downgrading (1.50 and earlier does). Sony continues to fight the hack problem, which I guess they did not envisage in the beginning.

I think we should be carefull talking about hacking stuff as it might be against the TOG Code of Conduct or EULA rules.
That being said I think the 3000 is a particularly hard PSP to crack as Sony is trying to stop this sort of thing. I wish you luck mate with it if you decide to continue.

I am making and educated guess here as I believe the CTF files are for a home brew program that allows you to change the look of the PSP dashboard. Standard themes are a .PTF file.
Have you tried using official SONY themes or used themes from web sites like: PSP Themes http://www.pspthemecentral.com/http:...sp-themes.net/ PSP Themes -ALL
