They fetch big dollars on eBay. If you don't care about the PS2 function, sell it as is on eBay. (Just make sure to mention it is not working and how much it will cost to fix). I am guessing you would get enough to buy a new model.

Yeh, $250 is big bucks, but it's better than spending $500 on a new one.
