Question xbox 120gb HD from hong kong

Has anyone ordered the xbox 120gb HDs from Hong Kong and used them with live without getting banned?

I know you can buy the cases and put your own HDs in, and also know that's essentially what these 120gb hds from hong kong on ebay are.

I need to get a bigger hard drive, but don't want to pay $200 for one when they cost sweet FA normally.

Cheers!

Don't think you want one of those mate. I was sure someone had posted about this a while back ... oh look, found it

X-box owners without "authorized drives" in for a bit of pain.

have had my PS3 for a few years now but it just sat there. and would only get fired up for the ocasional blu ray play. but the more i see of Microshafts/apple restrictions on a lot of things now, i'm going to be more inclined to purchase more for my PS3. looked at getting the bigger drive but the more you look into it the more you are being corralled into a corner where there are no other alternatives but the expensive microshaft option

I upgraded mine Oz. Easy to do, but there can be some pitfalls if you rush in.

Here was my experience with it: PS3 back up

Yeah I looked at that, but has anyone had it happen to them?
