It begins this Thursday (20/05/2010).

PlayStation Video Delivery Service Announced; IGN.com

Ancient_One 19th May 2010 01:40 AM

The pricing scheme will begin at AU$3.99 for rentals and AU$7.99 for permanent standard definition purchases.

PLUS...........your service provider costs and fingers crossed the download speed is capable of doing it.

i think people with slower connections are going to be pulling there hair out while waiting for 8gb of HD to come down the pipe. will this function allow streaming while downloading

FunkyJ 19th May 2010 07:28 PM

Oh god I hope my flatmate doesn't discover this function... I'll be broke within a week! :D

But seriously, about bloody time!

I don't use the Xbox video system as it's attached to my monitor and watching vids in my chair is uncomfortable, but as the PS3 is in the lounge and it's primary purpose is as a media centre, I can see a lot more impulse buys of video shows.

just had a good look at this service. most of the audio content 2 channel. pricing to own is riddiculous. $34 for HD ninja assasin. i shall not bother looking again

FunkyJ 24th May 2010 06:57 PM

Couldn't agree more OzV.

$24 for download movies is moronic.

I don't blame Sony... well, the Playstation guys any way.

Stupid retailers / movie studios.
