With the new texture pack management in the latest snapshot, you can animate textures... for a long time. So someone has gone a bit retro (and that is nether quartz blocks around the "screen").

Haha, awesome, imagine all the simulation required before your world is presented before your eyes

I particularly like the small creeper flies and that the frog has to burp out a small explosion once he's eaten one
