Server Information
One of our members has graciously made available a private alpha server* for the use of TOG'ers, friends and other approved non-members. While he maintains ultimate control and "ownership", various members assist in the admin and moderation duties. Players are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with general
TOG principles.
* Requires the use of the paid version of the game.
Please see
this thread on how to get approved and/or added to the whitelist, to be able to connect (required for both TOG'ers and non-TOG'ers).
Existing TOG full members can access the
server address here (located in the private sub-forum) while non TOG'ers will be provided the server details via forum pm once approved.
Server Map
The current map, including nominated warp points is available
here. The map is scheduled to update 4 times per day (1am, 7am, 1pm and 7pm AEDST). If only one warp point is flagged, this means the map is in the process of updating. Please wait a few minutes and refresh.
Should you want any of your additional warp points displayed on the map, please post in the
Warps thread.
Starting out on the TOG Server
(adapted from a
post by Sorontar)
Note: If you've not played Minecraft before at all, it will be less overwhelming if you've watched a few tutorial videos. There is a series linked in the Minecraft for Dummies sticky, along with links to various other Newbie Guides, FAQ, Wiki, Tutorials, etc.
A few quick points to help you. Some of these may not be available to you depending on your membership level
(see below).
Around the spawn point is the spawn village. Various paths have been laid out and you can start building there. The rule is your village abode can be no more than 10 x 10 wide, and only single storey. Digging down is possible but there are some massive chasms that have already been dug/exploded under the village. There is a newbie mine on the east edge of the village. You can get yourself starting gear from the Newbie Abode next to Spawn Point. There is also a community store in the western half of the village.
By default "t" takes you to talk mode and is also used for other commands, e.g. /help, /spawn.
To claim other land, we suggest you look at the
current server map and possibly the maps that are posted on this forum (
TOG Map Thread) and do a little exploring (but try to keep within the boundaries of the existing map). If you can find a place you like, that has few or no signs of prior claims (e.g. torches, blocks that are out of place), then start a thread in the forum telling us about your claim, including an image showing us where it is.
Hope that helps.
