A thought...

Manuzza said (in jest I believe) that we should chip in and buy Wusker minecraft which made me think that perhaps we could get a "TOG" copy of the game (all chip in to pay for it), which can be used to give some Toggers who are slightly keen but don't know if they want to buy the game, the ability to come in and have a peek at the game on our server... to help them make the decision to buy it or not.

They could be put on a restricted user list so they can't do any damage...

Now it's been pointed out that there are at least 2 issues with this

1). Multiple users - how to stop 2 (or more) people logging into the same account at once - this may not be an issue if we only have 1 person looking at it one day (enough to decide a yay or nay), and then the account details are given to someone else (maybe password changed to stop more than one person using it at once?) - Since it's only designed as a way someone can temporarily visit, it's not like someone should be hogging the account for days/weeks...

2). someone who had access to the account could then just change the password and 'steal' the account - but surely there would be repocussions for such behaviour.... and I can't see anyone wanting to go around being called just "TOG" and would want to be able to actually play the game properly if they like it enough to keep logging in... (.. plus it would be easy to log the IP address of the person logging in as "TOG" to know who it was)... and if admins controlled the e-mail address any password resets went to, that should mean the account isn't lost? (and it can be given to only trusted TOG members to begin with, to help prevent problems)


... anyway.... it was just a thought to put out there....

retox was logged in twice at the same time on our server the other night.
Not sure if this was a bug or a feature though...

Yeah, flibble was doing it the other night too.
Multiple people logged in via the same account doesn't seem to worry it.
Whether or not it works when it's from two different IPs is yet to be seen.

The game is pretty cheap to start off with, and isn't there a trial version or something like that?

well yes it is cheap....and there is a free version, but the free trial really doesn't show you what it's like playing on our server....

Is Ting Ting a bug or a feature? :P

(if you want to show someone what it's like, just let them log in as you at the same time. Not sure what havoc it plays on your inventory, I didn't take notes)
