Please note that you will likely be experiencing problems logging into the server, and if successful will encounter significant lag.

The physical server which we share, is undertaking some significant I/O activity for business clients who utilise the server.

It's recommended that you wait and possibly try again in half an hour. We are unsure on the ETA for usual responsiveness to return.

We ask for your understanding and patience, as we need to recognise that the server is currently provided at no cost to the Division by Exe, and as a result such inconvenience is a small price to pay.

though a quick question I note that the map (http://tog.swoit.as/minecraft/) is showing this comment:

"Please wait: map is regenerating."

Is the I/O being caused by the server usage or has teh map program run amok?

I believe the entire map is being redrawn intentionally, but that is an insignificant load compared to the commercial client.

yeah its back up now, and seems to be better. I killed off a few things that didn't need to be running. There may be occasional spikes, as we are shifting large amounts of data at the moment (terabytes of backups) along with the usual stuff. If it becomes a massive problem I can move the tog server to different hardware really easily, but its fine now. The map render didn't help things - a full re-render is very intensive.
