I suspect people are going to have too much fun with them to ban them. Hopefully the bugs get fixed soon enough.

Check out the warp spawncoaster if you want to see slingshot boosters in action.

Minecart track question (I already have grumbls about push-pull with them)

how do you make corners and intersection points so you can "change tracks" to a siding or something?

I think I did read somewhere, about the logic gate construction, that using the output would be possible to switch the points on mine cart tracks?

Ok, I got corners sused out, watching that "station" video, I couldn't get the corners to go back on them self, so I'm just running a incline booster..

Oh, and the fastest way to uproot your tracks, they don't like water, so if you flood it, the tracks will uproot for you

Ok, another thought, a mine cart that is empty will not travel as far as a mine cart that has you in it

Its about 2-3 times the distance if your in the cart

ie. if making trains on a continuous loop, you will have to put 2-3 times more boosters?

I wonder if that is due to chunking?

It's a shame (but understandable) that minecarts get unloaded from memory when they move out of range of a player - it would be nifty to have a rail system for moving people and goods between settlements

Some beginner tips for minecarting would be a useful thread.

I'll get around to my own subway system eventually, but sooo many things to do, so little time!

I assume curves are all 90 degrees? SO at very least I should plan my tunnels with that in mind?

How steep an incline can they go up etc?

How are they powered?

Do they run on glass blocks?

Pitfalls?

Cheers,
Max
