Btw, in his latest blog entry Notch mentions that he's going to make client updates voluntary. That will help us when these things pop up in the future.

Build 127
  • Updated to 0.2.5_01
  • Fixed class collision with Runecraft (hopefully, at least, I haven't checked)
  • Redstone hooks
  • Health hooks
  • Fixes a notch inventory bug
  • enableHealth changed to enable-health in server.properties. People that have used previous releases will need to change it!
hMod Server mod (plugins! updated to 0.2.5_01!) b127 - Minecraft Forums

Best part, unless I missunderstand it, is that last line, looks perfect for the Creative world if it does turn health on/off.

The new world is up!

The good:

Weapons now work. Make a sword and kill animals.
Mining works (halelujah!)
Sheep work (hit them and pick up wool).
Damage works. But it is, of course, turned off on our ceative server.

The bad:

Portals still do not work. This means if we get a parallel "damage" world we cannot warp back and forth to it.
Carts seem even buggier than before (boosters are extremely tempermental).

The mixed:

Monsters work. They spawn and you can kill them to get their resources. But I have had to turn them off!

The problem is the creepers: when they see you they walk towards you and blow up, doing quite significant damage. There is already some spawn village damage from creepers (mostly on the beach in an open area). The only damage to buildings was minor and has been repaired.

Portals were never scheduled to be fixed this patch, that's later/next (I know its a high priority for Notch, just not as high as getting damage etc to work)

Now what damage is working and what damage is turned off on the ceative server? Can we damage animals at the moment with the damage to players turned off?

Notch's highest priority is actually to stop hacks (Toodledo : Public To-Do List for Notch).

I have turned off PvP damage. I still seem to be able to kill a cow.

But his 'Next Action' according to same chart is Survial Mode Multiplayer

Damage to Players being falling, burning, drowning etc....

I assumed that 'turn off enable-health in server.properties' was done?

Damage is only off to players. You can kill animals and tear the wings of flies, if that is your way...

Slight problem... I just up-rooted some track, and the animation gave the track floating above the ground, I walked to it, and the animation of it being picked up...

*GRRRRRRR*

The track sections are not loaded into my inventory,

I found I had no space, so I dropped some rock to make space, and the next track section didn't load into my inventory

I have just lost about 15 track segments

Exiting and restarting Minecraft didn't help

Unfortunately, after today, I'll be AFK for about 10 days, as I'm on the Great Vic Bike Ride

WOW, hitting mine carts with a shovel now allows you to pick them up into your inventory
