We need this Mod! Minecart Mania!

The one issue I would have with this mod is that it would lessen the player's ability to choose the surface they place the tracks on. If I wanted to make the golden railway, then I would also have the side effect of a very fast railway. Likewise I could never make a haunted house railway on obsidian. I think the mod really needs a different design if it is going to work for all types of players.

And no, having to put redstone beside each gold or obsidian block would not be a solution. It is as much an unwanted side effect as the effect of the blocks.
